This set I consider as a good starter set for the vast majority of the cards (52) are in "good" condition. Approximately 14 of them I would say are "very good" to "very good+" condition. Also, a few other "issues" I will point out: (1) 3 cards have writing marks on their back sides; (2) 2 cards have paper residue from where they were once glued in a scrap-book - this residue is on the back side of the cards; and, (3) approximately 6 cards have minor corner or surface creases. This is indeed one of the more sought after non-sports sets from the mid 20th century.
Again, I would describe these cards overall in good condition. Just an avid pre-1970 non-sports card collector. Remember, cards in the "good condition" will have slightly rounded corners and/or corner nicks.
Still a very decent set for the collection! The 1965 Topps Battle cards comprise of a 66 card set. The first 53 cards depict battle scenes while the last 14 cards have 2 checklists and highlights of the WW II Allied leaders and fighting forces. These cards show vivid scenes of battles during World War II. These are extremely difficult to obtain.
This set does NOT include the cloth cards - just the cloth cards checklist (#65). This is the one card form this highly collectible and sought after 66 set to the 1965. This set is still considered a nice set from the non-sports cards sets of the mid 20th century.
This card will make a great addition for your set building, or an excellent starter card if you are starting your. I have been collecting these classic collectible cards since their release in the mid 1960's.They are a interesting source of history from the mid 20th century and especially World War II. Like the Horrors of War set from 1938, there "might be" a bit of propaganda regarding the Axis forces during that time in our history. These cards like the 1962 Topps Civil War News cards were done by the famous artist, Norm Saunders. Cards come with a great writeup on their backs pertaining the front's picture. Please judge for yourself their condition and centering. As with all of my items, the.
